Hello Third Grade Families!

My name is JoAnn Nevarez, and I’m excited to begin my 25th year at Christie Elementary! Many of you may recognize me from my 23 wonderful years teaching Kindergarten. This year, I’ve chosen to move up to third grade—a challenge I’m thrilled to take on. Over the past three years, I have been deeply involved in our Dual Language Curriculum, and I look forward to helping strengthen and implement the program in the upper grades.

I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. My husband and I have been married for 29 years, and we are blessed with three beautiful children. In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with music, watching movies, and spending time with our two playful Goldendoodles.

I can’t wait to embark on this exciting new chapter in my teaching career and to work with our amazing third grade students and families!

¡Hola familias de tercer grado!

Mi nombre es JoAnn Nevarez y estoy muy emocionada de comenzar mi año número 25 en Christie Elementary. Muchos de ustedes tal vez me reconozcan por mis 23 maravillosos años enseñando Kinder. Este año decidí subir a tercer grado, un reto que me entusiasma muchísimo. Durante los últimos tres años he estado muy involucrada en nuestro programa de Educación Bilingüe y espero poder ayudar a fortalecer e implementar el programa en los grados superiores.

Nací y crecí en El Paso, Texas. Mi esposo y yo hemos estado casados por 29 años y tenemos la bendición de tener tres hermosos hijos. En mi tiempo libre, me gusta relajarme escuchando música, viendo películas y jugando con nuestros dos juguetones Goldendoodles.

¡Estoy muy contenta de comenzar esta nueva etapa en mi carrera docente y de trabajar con nuestros increíbles estudiantes y familias de tercer grado!
