Arrival

Ashley’s doors open at 7:20am. and School begins promptly at 7:45am. We have had several students arriving right at the start of school, which has makes it difficult for us to begin the day on time and has caused us to fall behind our schedule.

Because our students are young, they need a little extra time to unpack, settle in, and get ready for the day. We completely understand that many families are also dropping off siblings at other schools, and we appreciate everything you are balancing each morning.

Dismissal

We will begin loading the kids in cars at 3:05pm. Cars will be dismissed starting at 3:10pm. Please remain in your lane.

In carpool, please be sure to stay in/next to your car until you see your child walking to you. There have been some Pre-K parents leaving their cars to walk up and get their child from the cafeteria doors. This has caused delays in carpool.

If there is a change in your child's dismissal routine, please inform your child's teacher and the front office by 2pm.

Water Bottles

We ask that your child's water bottle is filled with ONLY water.

Homework

We are excited to announce that beginning Thursday, August 27th, students will begin receiving homework as part of our routine this school year. 

In Frisco ISD, the purpose of homework in elementary school is to reinforce classroom learning, help students develop good study habits and time management skills, and create a channel for communication between teachers and families. Although homework is not graded, it can serve as an opportunity to strengthen learning and independence.

Families can support student success by:

• Encouraging completion of homework.

• Helping students build strong study habits and routines.

• Communicating with the teacher when specific needs or concerns arise.

We value a balanced approach that prioritizes student well-being, allowing time for family and extracurricular activities, while still offering opportunities to apply learning at home.

This school year in pre-k, you can expect homework to…

• Include name, letter, and number tracing, matching, phonics, and other math topics

• Be assigned each Thursday

• Be returned the following Wednesday

• Homework can be found in your child’s yellow folder. Please return the yellow folder with completed homework by Wednesday each week.
