Hello Allen Families😊
I am so excited to be here at Allen Elementary helping care for your students during the school day. They are the reason I am here! This is my fourth year here at Allen Elementary. Nursing is my second career and have been a Registered Nurse for 13 years. I have been married to my husband for 23 years and we have two boys 18 & 20. I will have a freshman and junior at Texas A&M this year, WHOOP!  I miss my kids at elementary age so I love working at Allen and taking care of your kids!
After working on the Ortho Trauma at Medical City Plano I shifted to working Women's Health and newborn nursery for a number of years. Debating to leave the hospital I began subbing throughout FISD as a substitute Nurse before deciding to take a full time school nurse position.
Please take a moment to add my direct phone number to your contacts so that, in the event that I need to reach you, you will recognize that I have called. I will leave a message if there is no answer. Please try to return my call as soon as possible. If I do not hear back from you within a reasonable amount of time, I will reach out to your student’s next contact. Nurse Eggl: 469-633-3808
Clinic voicemail is checked daily, as time permits. Phone calls will be returned during the day when possible, but it may take up to 24 hours before I am able to return your call.
You will not receive a phone call every time your student is seen in the clinic. The Registered Nurse will use her clinical judgement per the FISD policy to determine if a parent should be notified of a student’s visit. Notification may be done by phone call/voicemail, email or a note in your student’s daily folder. Please be sure to check your student’s backpack/folder often for any correspondence from the Clinic.
If you feel it is necessary that you are notified every time your student is seen in the clinic, please send me that request in writing via email. I will place an alert on your student’s file so that Administration is aware.
FISD requires that a student be picked up within 30 minutes and no greater than 1 hour after you have been notified that your student is being sent home. Please make sure that your contact information is correct with our Data Clerk, Brenda Williams, williabr@friscoisd.org. She will be able to update necessary changes for you.
I am on duty during school hours, 7:45 AM-3:05 PM. As the School Nurse, I am on duty to provide on campus health screenings, assessment and education. For illness and injuries occurring during the school day, basic first aid emergency care is provided according to the Texas State Board of Nursing Standards and Practices. The Nurse may suggest further medical follow up in certain circumstances. Further care and follow up is the responsibility of the parents. Please never send a sick or injured student to school for the Nurse to make an attendance decision. When in doubt always call and follow the advice of your student’s doctor. Nurses cannot diagnose your student.
FISD requires that students are screened for illness at home before they arrive to school in the morning. If your student is not feeling well, please keep them at home for further monitoring and consider evaluation by their doctor.
Please do not hesitate reaching out with any questions.
