Students are awarded a Certificate of Recognition, Half Colours and Colours in recognition of their contribution to service within The Friends’ School and the wider community. Students will have to apply to the Friends' Certificate and Service Awards Committee for consideration.
Senior students are encouraged to maintain a CAS Record of their activities and to obtain signatures / electronic comments (including email and phone number) from the supervising adult to verify their Service. Middle School Students complete an electronic Service Record Application Form. (Google Doc)
Certificate of Recognition;
Has participated in at least 15 hours service over the School year.
Has participated in both School based and Community based service-self organised. (At least 5 hours to be spent in each area)
OR
Has made an outstanding contribution to Service activities in the School or Community but ineligible for Colours awards.
Half Colours;
Has participated in at least 50 hours of Service in any one-year.
Has participated in both School based and Community based service-self organised. (At least 10 hours is to be spent in each area).
Has organised a minimum of 10% of their own Service activities
Has engaged, inspired or organised others in Service activities.
Colours (Years 10-12*)
Has participated in at least 100 hours of Service in any one year
Has participated in both School based and Community based Service-self organised. (At least 20 hours is to be spent in each area).
Has organised a minimum of 20% of their own activities
Has engaged, inspired, organised and led others in Service activities
Service activities that have already been recognised eg. Duke of Edinburgh Award, can be counted for the Service Colours provided they are not the only Service activities in which the student has been involved. The Duke Of Edinburgh may count at maximum 50% of the Service Award.
Service associated with a single event such as the Relay for Life, May 50K FOR MS, or MS Readathon will be limited to 5 hours (for the seeking and collecting of sponsorship monies) towards Colours.

Senior Students: Fill out the Friends' Certificate and Service Award Application Google Form, linking your CAS Record and Reflection, on the Friends' Certificate Google Site.
Middle School students: Make a copy of the Service Record: Fill out the Service Record Application Form and Google share it Liesa Winkler or Karina Churchill.
