Have the students had input into the planning of the activity?
Does the project appropriately match the student(s)' skills and developmental needs?
Have community partners been engaged throughout the development of this project, their needs listened to, their opinions sought and roles agreed upon?
Has the project been planned, roles, responsibilities and resources defined, equipment booked, letters and emails sent, risk assessments completed?
Has the student consulted relevant School staff and the School calendar to choose an appropriate date for their action and approval to proceed?
Has the student publicised their project or event via student notices, emails, What's On and displays in the lead up to the event and raised awareness in the community?
Implementing a Service Learning project:
Did the student follow their action plan and achieve their goals? Perhaps this Community Service Project Planning Worksheet may help?
After a project or event has taken place
Has the student engaged in reflection by examining their thoughts, feelings and actions as they engaged in the project and afterwards?
Has the student shared their project and what they have learned in the Activity Log or demonstrated it in other ways, for example, Gatherings, speaking at an assembly, joining a group or organisation.
