Dr. Cheung obtained his PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His recent research interests include young childrenās mathematical development and the home learning environment. He has published his research works in various international journals. He is currently an Editorial Board Member of Sex Roles and the General Secretary of the Hong Kong Educational Research Association. Dr. Cheung has more than 12 years of experience in teacher education. He has been invited by the Education Bureau and different institutions to conduct professional development workshops for in-service kindergarten teachers. He has also served as the Consultant for a childrenās television programme on multiple intelligences and a teacherās guide on how to create play-based learning centers in the kindergarten classroom. He is now the Programme Leader of the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Early Childhood Education) (Five-Year Full-time) of The Education University of Hong Kong.
