Catherine comes from a background of practice, research, and government policy. Prior to joining the Education University of Hong Kong, she served as a Senior Research Advisor in a New Zealand Crown agency, where she focused on using research to inform government policies. She was also a Research Fellow in the University of Waikato in New Zealand, and was an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health in the University of Hong Kong (HKU). The overall aim of her research is to develop, promote, and evaluate movement-based approaches as a means to enabling health and development. Catherine practiced paediatric physiotherapy prior to completing her PhD in HKU, and this contributes to her drive for applied research that is transformed to practice. She is an academic editor for PLOS One, and is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Learning Sciences and Physiotherapy Reviews.
