The Regional Reads
Freehold Regional High School District
2024 Summer Reading
The summer months are a great opportunity for students to read and embrace an appreciation for reading. The goal of FRHSD summer reading is for students to continue becoming a reader.
Students will advance literacy skills as we foster a culture of reading to cultivate life-long readers and learners.
Students will choose a high-interest book to read this summer.
This can be fiction or nonfiction.
Students should consider the subject matter before selecting a book and discuss choices with their parents/guardians.
Parents/guardians should be actively involved in the selection process and preview the selected texts.
For those who would like suggestions, we are sharing a variety of options from various organizations such as the Monmouth County Library, American Library Association, and FRHSD staff and students. The suggestions are included to appeal to a wide variety of interests and certain works may contain mature subject matter or language.
To foster a culture of reading, students should be prepared to discuss and share their selected summer read in class.
