The Bravecast runs LIVE every Friday Morning. The team works Monday-Thursday to prepare the production for Broadcast. Here is a preview of the teams Pre-Production process leading up to Friday Morning's "Bravecast"
Monday starts pre-planning! The production team begins outlining the show by figuring out what segments are going to be aired and which announcements need to be incorporated into the script. Our program members begin both pre and post production for pre-recorded segments, which are implemented into the live broadcast. We also select students to say the pledge of allegiance and give them the opportunity to make an announcement to the entire school for their team, club, or organization.
On Tuesday our team produces any pre-recorded event coverage, special announcements, students interviews, and a variety of other events that are implemented into the live broadcast. Our script writing team creates the show script by gathering school community and event information, along with highlighting student and staff achievements. Our Sports Journalism team works on gathering game statistics for our sports reporters to include in the weekly news program.
Wednesday is when all script information is finalized. Our Sports Journalism team is sent out to cover weekly sports statistics for our school. The technical director creates the show notes, while our producers work on transition, time, and microphone sequence boards. The graphic design team creates transitions and on screen graphics for a visually pleasing aspect of the show.
Thursday, there is a dress rehearsal where we complete two run through's of the entire show from start to finish. This gives everyone a chance to practice their job and feel confident for the live broadcast. In the studio, a technical team conducts show times, indicating to our team when to cut to a live camera or when cameras are off air and we can swap anchors, microphones and set pieces. teleprompter operators adjust the pacing of the teleprompter based on which anchor is reading, as well as coordinating start and stop points during the show. camera operators are in charge of making sure the shot is focused and positioned correctly for the best viewing experience. Final touch ups are made to graphics and scripts in order to best fit the flow of the episode.
Friday morning completes the build up of all the work put in throughout the week. Anchors are asked to dress business casual, while everyone else wears Bravecast polos to showcase their hard work for this program. We practice our lines one final time and have a brief vocal warm up session, while the behind the scenes crew double checks that everything is ready to go. The entire team comes into the studio for a motivating pep-talk before we go live at 7:30 to run the broadcast.
