Hello y'all! My name is Mrs. Sitterson or Ms. Sitt. I am very excited for this upcoming year as your 7th grade ELA teacher.
I am a graduate of Liberty University, BGSU, Concordia University - Irvine, and the University of New England, and I've taught all grades 6-12 over the course of teaching 20 years in Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia. While I'm originally from Genoa, Year 21 marks only my second year teaching in Ohio, specifically here at FMS. Please ignore the southern accent that I, apparently, have now. 😂
When I'm not at school, I'm usually wrangling my daughter, Caroline; our dog, Stella; our ball python, Bryson; or our four chickens - Rosalita, Midnight, Chick, and Nugget. I'm artsy-fartsy in that I'm learning to paint sfumato-style (made famous by Da Vinci); one of my paintings won "Best in Show" at the Ottawa County Fair this summer. The flipside to that is that I'm also super sporty and love Michigan, NC State, the Walleye, and the Guardians. I've coached volleyball, soccer, swimming, roller derby and track and am probably the most competitive person you will ever meet...but not in an obnoxious way. This carries over into the classroom as I expect each student to compete (learn) at high levels and always do his/her best. When we're all "in it to win it," there's no limit to what we can achieve.
