WATER
Sixth graders learned about the water cycle and put their engineering skills to the test trying to build a model that could demonstrate all stages: evaporation, condensation and precipitation.
We jammed to the beat of the "Water Cycle Song", which you can play below. Test it out on your sixth grader, it was a total hit!
Also, check out the pictures of them trying to guess how many water drops fit onto a penny! We were learning about water properties such as surface tension.
Volcanoes
We like to test things ourselves, so students took on building a volcano with newspaper, tape and some tape, and making it erupt using baking soda and vinegar. In this unit, students learned about the parts of a volcano, eruptions, and the different types of volcanoes.
The Ocean Floor
Earth Science is all about discovering and understanding more about God's creation. During this project, students created a model of the ocean floor, labeling each feature that we learned in class. Did your student make a mess out of your kitchen? Sorry about that! this project was done at home during virtual school this January, how amazing!
