Course Description - Engineering & Design 6

OVERVIEW - Students will learn the importance of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity while actively engaging in activities in order to find solutions.

LEGO ROBOTS - Students will build and program Lego EV3 robots to learn basic engineering and programming skills, basic physics, problem solving, design and testing, measured movements, turns, speeds, and power.

CODE.ORG - Students will also complete Units 1 and 2 of Code.org’s Computer Science Discoveries curriculum.

• Unit 1 exposes students to the input-output-store-process model of a computer and how computers are used to help humans solve problems.

• In unit 2, students consider questions of privacy and ownership on the internet as they learn how to create a basic website using HTML and CSS.
