Voters approved the bond referendum for the Freehold Township School District on March 11, 2025. All referendum-related information is now available in the archive.
The administration and Board of Education are proud to share that work has begun, and we will soon see our schools receive the improvements they need. This site will be regularly updated with construction progress information and photos.

Most interior construction work during the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 school years will be scheduled after school hours. Work on the classroom pods at Applegate and Errickson Elementary Schools will be completed during school hours. This work will not impact educational operations due to temporary relocation.
Other tasks may also be completed during school hours, as needed.
As always, our top priority remains the safety of staff members and students and providing them with a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Construction crews will make every effort to complete their work efficiently while minimizing learning disruptions.
All relocated areas have been equipped with necessary supplies and resources, and teachers will continue to provide the same high-quality instruction our students are accustomed to receiving.
Temporary relocation of main entrances and main offices will take place throughout the 2026-27 school year to accommodate construction work at the following schools:
Applegate Elementary School
Errickson Elementary School
Catena Elementary School
Donovan Elementary School
Early Childhood Learning Center
Barkalow Middle School (main office only)
Eisenhower Middle School (main office only)
District administration is working closely with school staff to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition.
For security purposes, walls will be erected, when possible, to separate the area under construction from the rest of the school. Cameras, doorbells, and visitor verification are being relocated to these temporary office areas.
On an ongoing basis, we expect some temporary classroom relocations at all buildings except the Early Childhood Learning Center.
Classroom pods at Applegate and Errickson Elementary Schools will be moved between each construction phase, with eight classrooms being shuffled as each pod undergoes construction.
All temporary relocations of classrooms other than Applegate and Errickson will take place in Phases 2 and 3. More information about each construction phase is available on the Project Updates page.
Details about these changes will be shared directly with the impacted staff members and families.
Check the Project Updates page for information about the timeline, construction phases and ongoing progress photos.
