Attendance

To ensure Barkalow Middle School Drama Program is successful, it is required that all students attend their designated rehearsals. A detailed schedule has been created, so students are aware of their specific rehearsal days. Please be mindful of the rehearsal schedule and schedule other activities when your child is not required to be at rehearsal. If there is a family emergency, your child is out sick, a religious event, or there is a personal situation, please send an email prior to rehearsal to both myself at lcuratolo@freeholdtwp.k12.nj.us and Ms. Colford at ccolford@freeholdtwp.k12.nj.us . If there is no note submitted, students will be marked unexcused. Other activities including gymnastics and dance are not considered excused. If a student has two unexcused early dismissals, it will count as 1 unexcused absence.

If a student has 3 unexcused absences, he or she will no longer be able to participate in the show. Rehearsals are an essential element to the success of the show.

Please be aware that changes are made to the schedule due to unforeseen circumstances. If changes are made to the schedule, a notification will be sent via schoology.

Please note:

Attendance at rehearsal is a requirement.

FULL RUNS & DRESS REHEARSALS ARE ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY.

There will be one MANDATORY Saturday DRESS REHEARSAL. If you can not make this commitment, please share all conflicts with Mrs. Curatolo & Miss Colford.

Participation in a co-curricular activity is open to all students in buildings where a program exists.

Participation is a privilege; therefore, the following rules must be adhered to:

1. A student must be passing all subjects as outlined below.

a. Students who are failing any subject at the time that warning notices are generated will be placed on a probationary period of ten school days. After the ten days have passed and the student has attained a passing grade, the probationary period ends and the student is in good standing. After the ten days have passed and the student has not attained a passing grade, he or she will be prohibited from participating in activities for the remainder of the current marking period.

b. Students who fail any subject at the end of the marking period will be placed on a probationary period of ten school days. After the ten days have passed and the student has attained a passing grade, the probationary period ends and the student is in good standing. After the ten days have passed and the student has not attained a passing grade, he or she will be prohibited from participating in activities until the time that warning notices are generated.
