EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT AND POLICIES
You may not use any equipment until you have been trained on it. If you miss an equipment demo, you must receive training from the professor or learning assistant before you can check out the equipment.
You may check out equipment overnight. Equipment is available for a maximum of 24 hours and must be returned by 12 pm M-F & 2 pm Sat -Sun
Please come at least 10 minutes prior to deadline to accommodate everyone's needs.
Student equipment loans are for direct academic schoolwork only.
Equipment checked out by you is your responsibility.
Damaged or missing equipment should be pointed out to the equipment manager immediately upon return of equipment or sooner if necessary.
It is your responsibility to check that all equipment is in working order when you check it out and that it is returned in like or better manner.
If equipment is lost or damaged while checked out by you, your course grade may be withheld until an agreed upon solution for its repair or replacement is reached including covering the cost as determined necessary.
Failure to return equipment will result in
1st infraction - warning
2nd infraction - .5 letter grade on current project
3rd infraction - whole letter grade on current project and temp revoked privilege - 1 week
4th infraction - permanently revoked privileges for duration of class.
5th infraction - a failing grade being given until equipment is returned or replaced and may result in the holding of transcripts.
A withdrawal from the class or the University will require immediate return of equipment.

LAB RULES
No food is allowed in the lab.
Drinks may be brought in and placed on the middle island of tables in sealed containers. No food or drinks are to be on or next to computer tables.
Failure to comply with these rules at any time, whether in class or outside of class may severely impact your grade.
Do not prop the lab door open.
Only students taking Film & Video Arts, Animation/Illustration or Digital Foundations classes have permission to use the lab equipment.
Lab use is for VANM coursework only. Work for other courses done in the lab may result in loss of privileges.
Other lab policies may be announced or posted at any time and must be adhered to.
Use of any color lab printers is limited to work done for class.
