Outdoor Learning
New in Fall 2022
Thanks to our community partnerships (see list of contributors below), Ferrum Elementary has started building outdoor learning spaces. These spaces are designed to ground science and math instruction in real world applications.
The proposal identifies 4 main spaces that teachers can utilize to facilitate learning outside. Here is a link to the proposal.
Title I funds were used to purchase science and math materials that teachers may checkout for use in the outdoor learning spaces and classrooms.
For teacher access only: Here is a link to the materials list and where they are found within the STEAM Lab. Teachers- please be sure to type your name beside materials that you borrow and promptly return when you are finished. Mrs. Angell is happy to help you gather what you need and set up outdoor classes.
