My name is Shana Edwards, and I am a resident of Franklin Township. I am very excited to be teaching in my home town. I have lived in Franklin Township most of my life, and I am proud to be part of the alumni for the Franklin Township and Delsea Regional School Districts.
This is my 20th year teaching. I taught in Willingboro, NJ for 15 years, and this is my fifth year teaching in Franklin Township. I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grades throughout my teaching career.
I am married with 2 daughters.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, watching movies, reading with my children, singing, and taking vacations whenever possible.
My teaching philosophy is that every student is filled with the potential to accomplish great things, and it is my job to help them reach that potential in the best way that suits his/her needs. I pride myself on getting to know my students' strengths, struggles, personalities, and learning styles. I have high expectations for my students and expect them to try their best each and every day. It is not about perfection - it is about progress, and as long as students are trying their best, they will make progress!
As a parent myself, I also know that consistent communication and teamwork with parents and guardians is necessary for students to reach their goals, and I look forward to working with all of you this school year!
