8/27-31 This week's homework is set #8. It is due on Friday 8/31.


Sept. 3-7 No school Monday. Homework #9 is due on Friday. We will be testing over Unit 1 on Friday. Students will do extensive review in class during the week; they may use their Chromebooks to do a practice test on the Connected site. (mcgraw-hill). My third block will not test until the following week. 9/10-14 We will work on exponents of 10 and expanded notation. A quiz is on Friday. Third block is two days behind this schedule. Homework, #11, is due on Friday.


9/17-21 We are starting the multiplication lessons. There is a quiz on Friday. Homework is #12 and is due on 9/21. Feel free to give guidance on the homework; students may also see me if there is further question. Game sites are listed on Google Classroom.


9/24-28 Homework #13 will be due on Friday. We will practice double digit multiplication and division-quiz on Friday.


10/1-5 Homework #14 is due on Friday. We will continue with multidigit multiplication and start division. Quiz on Friday.


10/8-12 Homework will be due on Thursday! Assignment 18 must be in by Oct. 11. Friday is no longer considered "on time". Blocks 1 and 2 will be finishing unit 2 with division (remainders), testing Thursday. I have some study guides for in class, and one version of the test can be practiced on the EDM site.

Block 3 will have a test on Tuesday covering unit 2 through multiplication (place value, notation, powers of 10, and multiplying with double digits).


10/15-19-Fall Break-Enjoy your time off!


Oct. 22-26-Blocks 1 and 2 will transition into fractions. Block 3 will finish division. There is no homework assignment this week.


Oct. 29-Nov. 2-Blocks 1 and 2 will do more work with fractions, while block 3 will finish the unit 2 activities, then start fractions. Division has been challenging and some have not mastered it; we will be revisiting division in a later unit.

Homework #19 is due on Wednesday, Oct. 31. We will now be on a Wednesday to Wednesday schedule with homework.

Nov. 12-16-Blocks 1 and 2 will finish unit 3. We will do study guides in preparation for the test 11/19.

Block 3 will continue with unit 3, focusing on different representations (names) for fractional amounts. Their test is not until after Thanksgiving.

The weekly homework is set 28, due on Wed. 11/14. The new homework will be given on Wednesday and due on 11/20.

Announcements for 12/3-7

Blocks 1 and 2 will starts using coordinates on grids, block 3 will be finishing the last few lessons of unit 3 on fractions. The big news is NWEA will be done on Tuesday and Wednesday. Homework will go home on Wednesday for everyone (it will be posted later) and is due on Friday.


Dec. 10-14 Bl. 1 and 2-We are adding and subtraction decimals this week to finish unit 4. Homework will be given on Wed. and is due on Friday (pract. set 46. A link will be posted on Classroom).

Bl. 3 will be finishing unit 3, reviewing and taking the unit test. Then we will start with coordinate pairs and graphing. Homework with be multiplying fractions by whole numbers. This will be assigned Wed. (available on Classroom), and is due on Friday.


12/17-20

Blocks 1 & 2-We will be review unit 4 with a study guide before the test on Tuesday. Wednesday will be a rewards day for the kids. Thursday is the incentive trips for students that have 3 or less marks on responsibity logs or behavior logs (the students going must maintain these requirements or they sacrifice their trip). There is no homework until after break.

Block 3-There is no homework until after break. This group will be working with coordinate planes (graphing points on a grid or naming points). There are some online activities for this in Classroom.

Jan. 14-18

Welcome to semester 2 and happy New Year! Not much has changed in our routines, so hopefully there are no surprises from everyone. We are definitely hitting the books:

  • BL. 1 and 2 are working on computation with fractions (different denominators). We have worked on adding and subtracting and will soon be multiplying fractions. Homework comes on Wednesday, due on Friday. I will post it on Google Classroom.
  • BL. 3 is working with understanding place value of decimals. We will have a test on Wednesday for these concepts. Starting Thursday, we will be working on how to round and estimate with decimals. Homework is given Wednesday, due on Friday (See Google Classroom).



Week of Feb. 4-8

Bl. 1 & 2-This week we will start unit 6 which focuses on place value and decimals.

There is no homework this week. However, all eLearning work must be turned in by Wednesday for attendance credit.

We will have a quiz on Friday.


Bl. 3-We will be using equivalent fractions to help us add and subtract fractions. We will start adding mixed numbers with unlike denominators. There is no homework. However, all eLearning work must be turned in by Wednesday for attendance credit.
