We don't have access to the Commonwealth eBook Collection for the 2025-26 school year, but hope to have that restored in 26-27.
In the meantime, here are some of great, free options:
Anyone that lives or works in Massachusetts has free access to the Boston Public Library, which offers an EXTENSIVE list of eBooks and audio books. Go here to register for your "eCard".
Project Gutenberg offers free access to eBook versions (and a very limited number of audiobooks) of classic novels.
LibriVox has an extensive collection of free audiobooks (mostly classics and books by new authors) read by volunteers.
Want to read banned eBooks and listen to banned audiobooks? The Brooklyn Public Library has a program for you. It's not as quick to sign up for as the Boston program, but it's there for you...
We get FREE access to a wealth of high-quality newspapers and magazines through the Boston Public Library, which is free to all Massachusetts residents and employees of Massachusetts schools! Sign up for a BPL eCard here.
