As of January, 2025, all students may take their directed study in the library (except during lunch period). Before then, it was just for seniors with perks.Â
Coming to the library for directed study is a privilege. Students that do avail themselves of the space are expected to work quietly and behave respectfully. Students that are unable to do so will be sent back to their original directed study location and will face disciplinary action.
Go to your regular directed study class
Make a pass in SecurelyPass to "Library - Directed Study"
Wait for your teacher to approve the pass
Come to the library and check in with library staff
Enjoy!
Ensure that it's not lunch period and that you haven't hit your limit of 5 students per classroom (not counting seniors)
Make sure SecurelyPass goes to to "Library - Directed Study"
Approve the pass
Allow the students to come down (IMPORTANT - Don't let students come to the library before the pass is approved, as we use Securely to limit the total number of students)
Library staff will end the pass once the student has signed into the library
Students in grades 9-11 are not allowed to come to the library for DStud during the lunch period
Seniors must have their perks. Otherwise, they have to stay in their assigned DStud location
There may only be 30 students in the library for directed study at any one time
There's a 5-student limit per class for students in grades 9-11
If the pass is denied, that's because the limit has been reached. Sorry!
If you intend to eat during the period, you must sit in the front of the library (at the giant curved shelving area in front of the books, and in front of that area)
Students are expected to stay in the library during that period
