CogAT 2nd, 5th grades only

Cognitive; Creativity two-part identification process

Part I-must meet the required score of 112 (Composite/SAS), then…

Part II-Teacher will receive the Creativity Checklist to complete.


MAP Growth 2-5 and MAP Growth 6+ (MAP K-2 for information purposes only)

Reading, Math---gifted identification 95% or higher

Science---5th-8th is not on the ODE Approved Assessment List for Gifted ID.

FCS individual ASSESSMENTS FOR GIFTED IDENTIFICATION

Referral-based: Any student residing in the district may be referred for evaluation by a teacher, administrator, guidance counselor, school psychologist, gifted education specialist, parent or legal guardian for possible accelerated placement.

Cogat or Iowa may be utilized to assess

*Note: school psychologists may use other assessments outside those described in the FCS gifted policy documents for the purposes of gifted identification.

FCS ACCELERATION POLICY AND PLAN K-12

Acceleration is any modification or change of the regular instructional program that enables a student to progress more rapidly and to complete a program in less time or at an earlier age than is traditional.
