What is SEL?
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is an important part of helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Through SEL, students develop the skills to understand and manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, show empathy, make responsible decisions, and work toward personal and shared goals.
At Franklin Middle School, SEL is woven into the school day to help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every student feels connected, respected, and ready to learn. In partnership with families and the community, SEL helps students build the confidence and life skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
