Practice smarter, not harder
Consistency is key, the first and most important part of practicing is as simple as playing your instrument. Once you have everything ready to go, here are some tips:
Basic Tips
Start slow
Use a metronome
Practice the hard parts
Practice consistently
Advanced Tips
Spread out your practice, a night's sleep in between practice sessions can improve your abilities by double.
Practice in small chunks, taking brakes makes you better.
Have a plan, practicing without a specific goal(s) in mind is like going to run an errand, wandering around and coming home, then wondering why you didn't end up with the gallon of milk you needed.
Goals need to be specific such as: "Measures 34-40, focusing on the large jumps." not: "The first half sounds bad, I'm going to work on it."
Start with a goal, execute it, and self-assess if it went well, or needs alteration for next time
