Saint Francis University Students

·   Jacob Garrity, Mark Koskinen, and Kevin Salmon – These three undergraduate students honed their 3D fabrication skills in the creation of a glow-in-the-dark globe of the Moon. This beautiful component of the exhibit allows visitors to hold the Moon in their hands and to investigate lunar craters and maria. The model was created using data obtained by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.

·   Jonah Royer – He worked on 3D fabrication of dwellings on the moon, conducted presentations with rocks and minerals and assisted with other outreach activities. With the dwellings, children will explore optimal shapes and materials for effective construction of facilities on the Moon.

·   Anna Belle Stover – She created two canvases displaying the near and far side of the Moon as chalk sketches. These canvases serve as an educational demonstration and discussion on Moon’s rotation, revolution, phases, and topographic features. During the painting process, the student practiced white chalk sketching technique and learned how to accurately sketch shadows on the airless surface.
