Approaches to Learning (ATLs)

The IB Approaches to Learning (ATLs) are an essential part of an IB education because these five skills are how we learn. The ATLs are interconnected skills that can be defined and developed in many ways. When students self-reflect and set personal goals to improve these Approaches to Learning, they become more confident and independent learners. The ATLs connect with the IB Learner Profile and with developing the whole child, including academic, linguistic, and socio-emotional learning. At Harmony Grove Elementary School- A Global Academy, we encourage students, teachers, and parents to develop, recognize, and celebrate social skills, communication skills, thinking skills, research skills, and self-management skills!
