IB PYP Professional Development
IB offers professional development workshops that are online or face-to-face. All teachers at an IB PYP School are required to first take the Category 1 workshop "Making the PYP Happen: Implementing Agency" After this initial training, PYP teachers are encouraged to choose from a variety of Category 2 or Category 3 IB PYP workshops such as "Local and Global Inquirers," "Engaging Collaborative Communities," "Concept-Driven Learners," and more!

IB-Recognized Free PD & Important Resources
- Explore the IB’s new and free Primary Years Programme Professional Development (PYP PD) workshops. Each of them offers interactive modules for educators to learn more about the PYP in under 30 minutes.
- Listen to this podcast at the link above or subscribe on any podcast app. There are episodes in English and Spanish sharing experiences, tips, and stories from the PYP, MYP, and DP IB programs.
- These 15-30 minute mini-PD experiences provide an overview to the 4 "What is an IB Education?" PD workshops (Investigating inquiry, Living & learning globally, Beyond the disciplines, Approaches to Learning)
- Explore over 40 categories of online learning experiences about the PYP with lessons and resources ranging from 3 minutes to an hour.
- All PYP teachers should have access to the MyIB website. If you need to set up your account, follow these directions. The MyIB website provides access to the Programme Resource Center for IB PYP resources and Programme Communities to join discussions with PYP teachers around the world.
- On the MyIB website you can access all of the most recent publications from IB, including the important guiding document for PYP implementation: "From Principles into Practice." This visual summarizes the three sections of that document with the subsections for "The Learner," "Learning and Teaching," and "The Learning Community."
