My name is Sana Toor and I am currently a senior at Farmington High School. I have always had a passion in STEM and biology, being confident that I would want to go into the medical field in the future. For my upcoming capstone project, I am planning on researching pediatrics and child psychiatry. I would like to know more about the long term effects of childhood trauma and stress on neurocognitive functions of children aged 10-18 and the ranges of psychiatric treatment. My experience with science and STEM includes my leadership in the Women in STEM club and having taken a Biomedicine in the laboratory course last year over the summer. This course truly stemmed my interest in the medical field and gave me a more specific idea of what I would like to go into in the future. With the utilization of resources and community contacts, I'm hoping to gain a more solid understanding of both fields and bridge together how one may affect the other.
