NEW FAFSA INFORMATION - PLEASE READ!!!
There have been some changes to the FAFSA filing process. Click HERE to learn more.
If you complete your FAFSA on your own, be sure to check that the child receives free lunch. This will help you tremendously.
Though FAFSA® completion is no longer a graduation requirement for Louisiana students, completing the form offers many benefits to students including:
Helping to pay for college or career school: Students leave millions of dollars in financial aid on the table each year when they don’t complete the FAFSA®. Not only is the FAFSA® needed to be considered for some federal and state financial aid programs, but many colleges also require it for students to be considered for institutional aid.
The FAFSA® form also acts as the TOPS application.
The form is simpler with past issues resolved and takes as little as 10 minutes to fill out.
Please note that students are required to apply for the TOPS scholarship and must do so by either completing a FAFSA® form or by completing the TOPS Online Application. Students without an application on file will not be eligible for TOPS processing and will not be eligible for an award, even if they meet all other requirements.
