Half Term Already!
It seems as if this term has whizzed by so quickly, yet it feels like we are still stuck in the winter because of the dreadful weather we have been experiencing over the last few weeks. Unfortunately, the weather has had a bit of an impact on our PE lessons and outdoor learning opportunities so we sincerely hope for sunny and warmer skies after half term!
As you know, we have begun to move towards "normality" here at FPJS. In the past few weeks, we have returned to group bubbles, which has enabled us to run live assemblies and most importantly has given us the opportunity for staff to work across the team, allowing us to enhance catch up support for children. In our final week, we have changed the lunchtime arrangements slightly to allow more children to dine in the hall, which has opened up more opportunities for the bus to be used for lunchtime club to support children with their play and friendships. One thing the pandemic has given us is the chance to do things differently. We have found our new way of staggering playtimes and lunchtimes has had such a positive impact on the children's enjoyment of their free time (as they have so much more space dedicated to their own year group) that we will definitely be continuing with this even when all restrictions have been lifted!
As always, we continue to prioritise the well-being of our children after this extraordinary year and have continued to focus our PSHE around the positive mindset theme. We hope the children have tried hard to think in a positive way (be a 2 percenter!) even when things are tough, and are less inclined to think like a "mood-hoover!" If you want to know more about this, please click on the link for the parent video below. It is well worth a watch as it will most definitely give you some pointers on how to have a positive mindset which ultimately will have an impact on your children! It is 5 mins which might change your life...
Have a wonderful half term everyone- I hope you all manage to get outdoors and enjoy improved weather! Do see the photo at the end of this newsletter with some excellent advice of how to get out in nature and get away from devices for improved mental health!
