1. What was the reason for this merger and when does it become effective?
HomeServices of America, in collaboration with Bill Keleher and Chris Brown, determined through careful consideration that the best strategy for future growth is for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New Jersey Properties to merge with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors®. The transition is effective immediately.
2. Has BHHS New Jersey Properties been sold to BHHS Fox & Roach?
No, the company remains wholly-owned by HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate, and will operate under the name Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors®.
3. Who is Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors®?
Since 1886, we have served residential customers, commercial clients and investors in all price ranges, and we have earned an exceptional level of trust among buyers and sellers of high-value properties. Today, with our merger, we have over 5,000 sales professionals and more than 500 employees in more than 80 sales offices across the Tri-State area, the company is #1, for the eighth year in a row, in the entire national Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Network, and was recently awarded Top Workplaces in 2022.
Through its affiliated services, the Trident Group and Prosperity Home Mortgage, LLC; the company provides one-stop shopping and facilitated services to its clients including mortgage financing, and title, property and casualty insurance. The company-sponsored charitable foundation, Fox & Roach/Trident Charities, is committed to addressing the needs of children and families in stressful life circumstances and has contributed over $8.6 million to more than 250 local organizations since its inception in 1995.
4. How will I transact business today - listing, rental or sale?
Today you will begin to transact business as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors®. Your Zipforms account has transitioned to BHHS Fox & Roach with access to your transaction history. You will continue to access Moxi Present through the HUB and the listing presentation is rebranded for your use. In time, you will become familiar with all the Fox & Roach marketing materials and tools.
5. What happens to my current pending sale agreement?
Other than notifying the client of this announcement, nothing changes. All current pending deals will close as scheduled. All terms of the contract will remain in full force and effect.
6. How do I notify my Buyers, Sellers and Landlords? What happens to my listings?
Please call your clients today to let them know about the exciting news. Assure them that you will continue delivering the high level of service that they have come to expect. We have prepared letters to use with your buyers, sellers and rental clients. Your Sales Leader and OA have copies or you can access them on this site under Transition Messages. Once you have the client letter signed, provide a copy to your OA. Let your sellers know that the signs will be changing. After a seller letter is signed you can change the panel on the yard sign or, if the sign was professionally installed, request a sign installation. Listings will be updated automatically in the MLS.
7. Will our signs change?
Yes. Our sale and rental signs will change to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors® signs. After your Seller has been informed of the merger and signed the provided letter, you will give a copy of the letter to your OA. If the sign was professionally installed, we will have the new sign installed for you. Otherwise, you will take a new sign panel to your listing.
BHHS New Jersey Properties exterior building signs will be replaced with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors® signs in the coming weeks.
8. Do I need a new independent contractor agreement with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors® ?
The New Jersey Real Estate Commission requires a contract between the broker and the agent. Your existing independent contractor agreement (ICA) with BHHS New Jersey Properties is assignable to Fox & Roach so a new ICA is not needed.
9. Will our commission schedule change?
No, your commission level stays the same.
10. How does your Errors and Omission (E&O) insurance work?
You will be covered under your current E&O policy for the remainder of this year. The BHHS Fox & Roach E&O renewal period is in December for the 2024 policy term. BHHS Fox & Roach’s E&O is a limited contribution plan with an in-house legal department to support you.
11. Will the office phone number or my email address change?
The office phone number will not change.
Each agent has been given a new @foxroach.com email address which is on your starter set of business cards. The foxroach email is on a Google platform and employs a two step verification process for increased security making the system safe for both you and the consumer.
You can access your @foxroach.com mail from http://mail.foxroach.com with the new username and password given to you. We recommend you update your email signature to include Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors®.
You may continue to use your @bhhsnj.com email address for a transitional period. Please update your email signature to include Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors®. In a few weeks, your @bhhsnj.com email account will migrate to the @foxroach.com account and all future messages sent to your @bhhsnj.com will auto forward to your new @foxroach.com email address.
You will have training on the Google mail platform to become familiar with its functions and features.
12. How will I benefit from these changes?
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors has developed a suite of marketing tools and resources that are leading edge for our industry. In New Jersey, our combined market share creates a dominant presence propelling us to #1 in units sold in the communities we serve which reaches from Cape May to Morris and Essex Counties. We are also #1 in the international Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network for the past 8 years and #1 in Commercial sales within the network as well!
13. How will I notify my sphere of influence, previous customers and farm area?
We have prepared special announcement messages you can mail, email and post on social media. Check out the Transition Messaging page on this site. At the company’s expense, you can mail 250 announcement postcards from Xpressdocs. These cards announce the exciting news and remind everyone of your contact information.
14. What about my customized personal marketing materials?
Our Sales Associate Marketing Services group, with Amanda McCabe as your Marketing Director, is available to assist you in transitioning existing custom materials, or when you’re ready, creating new customized personal promotion materials to help you increase your business. The Fox & Roach marketing materials and systems are extensive, and as you take the orientation and training on all of Fox & Roach’s tools and materials for use with both buyers and sellers, you might find new ways to promote yourself and your business.
15. What about business cards, stationery and other supplies?
You were given a ‘Welcome Kit’ that contains: Business Cards, Name Badge, and a sampling of the marketing and technology tools and support that are available to you. New sign supplies have been sent to your office and to LJS. Please contact your Sales Leader for specific sign needs.
16. How do I get the BHHS Fox & Roach logo to update materials I have created?
All logos and select graphics are available on this site under the Logos & Branding menu.
17. How will this change affect the BHHS New Jersey Properties website and my profile on it?
The bhhsnj.com website will forward to foxroach.com. Agent profiles on foxroach.com are set up for you to customize, we have imported your headshot and cell number to your foxroach profile and to help you migrate your custom bio, or URL’s send an email to clientservices@reliancenetwork.com. Check out your web profile on foxroach.com. Changes to your profile can be made directly in the Agent Center for Excellence (ACE). You will learn more about our intranet and all of the company services at future Fox & Roach training classes.
18. What about the BHHS Fox & Roach Website? What happens to the leads on my listings that go to the Fox & Roach website?
You can reach the company website by visiting www.foxroach.com. When a consumer visits the foxroach.com website and has an inquiry on your listing, the lead opportunity goes directly to you, the listing agent. We will review more about the required acceptance process and lead management system in an upcoming class.
19. I have my own custom website. What should I do?
All BHHS Fox & Roach agents have a free agent website which will be set-up and activated for you. Your domain name will be: firstnamelastname.foxroach.com. (i.e.: janedoe.foxroach.com) You can customize the website from the Agent Center for Excellence (ACE). Training will be offered on how to customize your website. If you own your own URL it can be pointed to your new agent website (in ACE-> Site Builder -> Domain) Contact ACE Support at acesupport@foxroach.com for further assistance. If you wish to continue with your current website provider, you can send them a BHHS Fox & Roach logo. If you need assistance with custom pages and bios to be moved to your foxroach.com site, please email clientservices@reliancenetwork.com.
20. Will we continue to use Trident Group and PHM Mortgage?
Yes, we are a home services company providing brokerage, mortgage, title and insurance services. The Trident Group is an affiliated company and our Trident and PHM representatives work closely with our sales associates to ensure a smooth transaction for our clients.
21. What if I have other individual questions or concerns?
Please see your sales manager to discuss any specific issues. We have a live training schedule, access to digital marketing material, and instructional videos on using tools and we will provide ongoing opportunities to address your questions.
