Note to Parents:
We understand that this may be a particularly difficult time for our pupils and their families. We are also aware that distance or online learning may not suit all our pupils as the majority of their education in school is delivered throughout the school day by slowly shaping behaviours and delivering tasks in a discreet way. In school, our staff use strategies to assist and monitor progress that we know may be difficult and time-consuming to run in the home environment. We will be here to support you during the class closure. I have drawn up some advice around home-schooling (at the following link: Primary 2 Home-School Advice) but before you engage in home-school education, please note that :
We understand the difficulties that it may bring you
We have no expectations on parents to deliver any educational programmes at home
We know that education always begins at home with the parents so continuing to keep your child safe and happy is more than enough during these times
We all hope that your child will be safely back in school soon and, no matter what place they are in, our staff will work hard to get them back on track to the best of our, and your child's abilities.

This site was set up in response to the mandatory school closures due to the Covid-19 Pandemic for the Primary Class (Room 2) at Foxfield Special School.
If you have an idea about what you want your child to learn in the home environment and wish to request particular resources, please use the Parent Resource Request Form at the end of this page. Alternatively, parents can e-mail me at smacnamara@foxfieldsmh.ie for advice around learning or behaviour programmes for the home setting.
