For a project, I was forced to shoot images outside of my comfort zone and I ended up really enjoying it. It truly made me stop and think about what I was going to shoot and how I was going to shoot it. It was not easy at first getting the hang on everything. I am very proud of myself that I was able to produce such amazing pictures. I was very inspired by a college photography contest. I loved the way the artist captured some point in a story, but the person viewing the image does not know this story, yet they see a new story themselves. I wanted to create the guessing game with my images. My favorite images came out of this project, i forced myself into new places (literally) and had to expand the way I view my style of photography. I did not make any major changes to my work while in photoshop, I wanted to keep my work as close to as what I saw in person. I only changed the lighting and colors to keep the image as close to the original for everyone else to see. Exploring the art room was my favorite time I shot. Everyone was very willing to have their pictures taken and to be able to show off their work as well. I enjoyed the clash of art, yet the unity it created. The image of Adair is very special to me because, before she was goofing around and goofing around for the camera, but as soon as she turned away from the camera a whole different side of her personality came through. I am very glad I got to capture the lesser known side of Adair. The photo of Caroline drawing was harder for me to capture. I was taking tons of photos of Caroline working, but I could not find a way to get her painting in the picture. I learned to switch what I was focusing on and this was the first photo that had come out of that. That is why this is my favorite photo in the Photojournalism section. Caroline and I were both struggling to find the right way to approach our art and I was able to capture the moment of achievement. Walking around on Big Track with a camera was so much fun! Getting to take pictures of everyone on Big Track was a very different experience since I am usually the one on the horse.

I have never photographed people before to highlight their features. Photographing people was a big challenge for me. I had to work twice as hard for every photo. From fining locations to shoot to editing the pictures I worked harder and harder for each photo. I am very proud of what I have accomplished even though I still have lots of room to grow. while shooting, I learned a lot about timing and how it will help me. I learned to time the happiest moment of a face to the saddest. Even though this part of the project was not photojournalism, I still wanted to find a way to tell a small story. Capturing little moments of my friends (and my friends horses) made this process a little bit more enjoyable, I stopped worrying about how it would turn out in the end and focused on how I could make it the best for them and what their grandma would want to see.
