The Leith family has 2 towns named after them. James Leith's sister married into the Powell family. The Powell were one of the founders of Middleburg. 3 of Leith's grandsons fought in the Civil War. Benjamin Leith settled on the property after the war. Before he died he sold the property to the Goodwin's. They built the Manor house and created Goodwin farms. The Warburgs bought the property in 1939. They used the property as a horse farm and dairy farm. They also used it as a party house. The current owner bought it in 1996 and made it an inn in 1998. Mark Betts is the current owner of Goodstone Inn. Foxcroft school went to the Warburgs estate for a class party before it was Goodstone Inn.
