Remote Working

We decided on Thursday 12th March to implement a Work From Home (WFH) policy, starting Tuesday 17th March.

The following pages outline how we planned and implemented this. Here is this reasonning behind our decision.

Our main reasons for doing this are:

• Thinking of people; among us are people with health vulnerabilities or who care for people with health vulnerabilities - we don’t want to put anyone at risk

• Thinking of business continuity; if we’re in close contact, one person getting it could mean it spreading through the agency. As well as being awful for the people, this would have a large impact on delivering our services.

Our reasons for doing this before the government recommends it:

• a lot of experts are surprised the government isn’t already recommending this

• we know there will be a few hiccups as we first settle into agency-wide remote working, so we decided take them on proactively

• it’s seems likely the government will announce a similar measure soon anyway, and when they do it may be at the same time as school closures - let’s get this set up before that happens!
