iASPIRE by ISBF - Immersive summer workshop on careers in Economics, Management and Finance (For Grade 11 and 12)

(On July 3rd and 4th 2021 and July 10th and 11th 2021)

ISBF is delighted to announce the 2nd edition of iASPIRE, its annual summer workshop,aimed at enabling students to better understand the importance, scope and prospects of the fields of Economics, Management and Finance through interactions with industry leaders and experts.


Format

  • Interactive online sessions by ISBF and LSE faculty members and several eminent industry speakers

  • 16 contact hours, split up into 4 hours per day with a 1-hour break in between


Dates

First two weekends of July

  • July 3rd and 4th 2021

  • July 10th and 11th 2021


Eligibility

Current Class XI students, current Class XII students, and 2021 Class XII graduates


Cost

  • INR 5,000 per student, OR

  • INR 4,000 per student, if 5 or more students apply from a school

Admission Process

There are 60 seats for the 2021 iAspire summer workshop. Admissions to the workshop are offered on a rolling basis, that is to say, applications will be considered as and when they are submitted and decisions will be made within two weeks. This also means that other things equal, students applying early have a higher likelihood of acceptance.

You will need to submit the following information as part of the iASPIRE Application Form:

  • Personal details

  • Academic details (including Class X marksheet)

  • Answer to the question “Tell us how Economics, Management and/or Finance can help you change the world”, in writing (no more than 200 words) or in the form of an audio or video clip (no more than 90 seconds).

on Sunday, 20 June 2021.

Artful Leadership and Critical Thinking Program by Yale University

Yale University is set to launch one of the most unique programs, “Artful Leadership and Critical Thinking,” taught by, faculty from Yale University for high school students. Students can engage in a detail-oriented observation of modern and contemporary artwork from Yale University Art Gallery (YUAG)—the oldest U.S. university-based art gallery—and global contemporary artists.

The program is based on Harvard Graduate School of Education Project Zero’s Art of Looking pedagogy and Visual Thinking Curriculum.

Program starts July 10, ideal for Grade 8 - 12. Program fees USD 900.

United Nations Virtual Training for High School Students (Grade 10-12)

Stanley Prep provides programs designed for career advancement, education enhancement, cultural enrichment, and internship opportunities.

Students get the opportunity to participate in United Nations Semester Online (UNSO) program, which was designed for high school students interested in developing the tools necessary to become successful global professionals.


  • What is United Nations Semester Online (UNSO)?

The Foundation for International Education and Training (FIET), a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization, has joined with Stanley Prep to offer this exclusive flagship training program to top-performing high school students around the world.

This program is designed to inspire top students to analyze governmental relations both on a global and local scale. Students will have the opportunity to take part in a series of workshops, seminars, and lectures led by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA). With exposure to the highest level of international relations, politics, and so much more, students will become better equipped to serve as exceptional ambassadors to their communities.


Eligibility:

  • High school students currently in grades 10-12

  • Minimum high school GPA of 3.5

  • Proficient in English

  • Access to a reliable internet connection

Online Diploma in Photography - Shaw Academy

Dear parents and students,

This post mentions an external agency, Shaw Academy. The school does not have a tie-up with them. We are informing you about this partially FREE course as it may be helpful for students who want to learn photography, enhance your current skills, learn to use your lenses correctly, get perfect exposures every time or discover new types of photography.

About the Course:

The Online Photography course will be a virtual course comprising 32 classes for 16 weeks. Shaw Academy offers free access for the first four weeks (8 classes) to experience the level of professionalism you can expect from the classes. Students can then continue learning by paying the monthly fee of INR 600 for 3 months for the remaining 24 classes and earn an internationally recognized certification that will aid in career progression. You can drop it after 4 weeks if you don’t want to continue.

The Structure of the course:

The 4- week free Diploma course will cover the following topics:

  • Get started - What to shoot? An overview of photography in the modern era.

  • Camera basics - Start taking control. Making sense of camera terminology and modes on cameras.

  • View of the world through the camera. Exploring different lens types and understanding focal length.

  • Composition - Start seeing as a photographer. Improving photos instantly by understanding basic composition and ideas on what to look out for!

  • Shutter speeds - Adding dynamic movement to photography. What shutter speeds are and how to use them creatively to capture motion.

  • Apertures - Controlling light and depth. What apertures are and how to use them effectively to create depth and the next step to full control.

  • Good Exposure and the Light mete. What is exposure and how the camera measures light.

  • Fully manual mode - Take complete control

  • Putting it all together to take full creative and technical control.

After the first four weeks, students can enroll for Intermediate, Advanced and Proficient Levels at INR 600 per month.


How do these classes work?

  • Pick the number of classes & the schedule for the week. Which means, start and complete the course at your own pace. Each class will last approximately 1 hour.

  • Attend class on the days & time of your choice. Reminders are sent on the day of the class. You can even reschedule in case a class is missed.

  • Attend from any type of device

  • Discuss/ask questions in the class chat.

  • Lessons are followed by quizzes, assignments and resources will be available for download.
