During club week, Highlands FCCLA held our informational meeting on August 28th in order to recruit new members, do a #DareToDream activity, discuss community service, fundraisers, homecoming, star events, travel opportunities, and so much more! We loved getting the opportunity to share this amazing organization with others at our school.

On September 24th, Kentucky's Region 7 held our Fall Meeting at Union Baptist church. Three wonderful guest speakers spoke about Ronald McDonald House and Magnified Giving. Regional Officers, including Shelby Shields and Cydni Martin, trained chapter officers and taught them the responsibilities and importance of their jobs. Members also had the opportunity to enhance their goal-making skills with some fun activities.

Highlands FCCLA attended the first-ever FCCLA National Fall Leadership Institute this October. The event was a huge success. Our chapter had a great time getting to experience a new leadership learning opportunity while celebrating the fantastic Disney Magic at all four of the Disney World parks, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

Not only did Highlands FCCLA plan and set up for homecoming this week, but we also hosted our third annual homecoming parade, planned a raffle at the homecoming football game, and planned our school spirit week. Our theme for this year's spirit week included Twin Day, Adam Sandler Day, PJ Day, country vs Country Club, and Spirit Day. Still on the topic of themes, this year's Homecoming theme was Vintage Hollywood based on the famous 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Although the week was hectic as we had just returned from FLI, we managed to continue the success of all events!

3 officers and a brand-new member volunteered on behalf of our chapter to represent FCCLA at the annual Fort Thomas Holiday Walk. They made reindeer food with kids in our city. The event was super successful and the table was surrounded by 30+ parents and children who wanted to participate in the activity and learn more about the club!
