Chamber Choir
Chamber Choir is Highlands' premier mixed choir. This choir is audition-only and is open to students in grade 9-12. Students in the choir study difficult choral literature of varying styles and learn to sightread at an advanced level. Students in this choir will represent the choir program and Highlands High School in and around the community as well as sing for school and district-wide events. Chamber Choir consistently receives Superior rankings at KMEA Adjudicated Events. This choir meets during 5th Period.

Highlandaires Chorale is a mixed choir that is open to all students 9-12. Typically our largest choir, this choir performs standard choral repertoire of varying styles, and learns the foundations of reading music and sightreading at a moderate level. The students in this choir perform for school events and concerts. This choir meets daily during 4th Period.

Bluebird Choir is a developing choral ensemble to prepare students to join the Highlands High School Choirs program. This ensemble will perform music from all major style periods and genres, including contemporary music. Special emphasis will be placed on the teaching of vocal technique, musical literacy and the performance of quality music. Students will also learn the function of music in society throughout history and how music relates to other disciplines.
