How To Get Up To Speed With Theory

Lack of skills in the area of "music theory" is a common problem for students new to Jazz Ensemble.  If this sounds like you then here is a good way to get ahead of the learning curve.

Go to the musictheory.net website.  Under the Exercises tab begin working down the page.  If you have been in Jazz Ensemble before this year you should be able to go very fast through the exercises.  If you are diligent and work on this some every day you will be well versed in music theory for the purposes of jazz ensemble.  If you have questions just email me at swestbrook1@fortsmithschools.org.
