    • It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the Elementary School Social Worker for the Fort Atkinson School District. I would like to take a moment to inform parents/guardians of some of the ways I can be of assistance to you and your child.

    • School Social Workers assist in facilitating increased communication between the home, school and community. Social workers provide direct as well as indirect services to students, families, and school personnel to promote and support students’ academic and social success. School social workers provide services related to students’ and family’s social, emotional, and life adjustment to school and/or society. School Social Workers assist schools to increase attendance, academic achievement, and the numbers of students who graduate.

    • School social workers are often called on to help students, families, and teachers address problems such as attendance, social withdrawal, overaggressive behaviors, rebelliousness, and the effects of special physical, emotional, or economic problems.
