All prescription drug costs are applied to the deductible. Once the deductible is met, prescriptions are covered at 100%.
A health savings account (HSA) offers a tax-advantaged way to save and pay for qualified out-of-pocket health care expenses. You must be covered by a qualified high-deductible health plan (HDHP) to be able to take advantage of an HSA.
The District "seeds" or contributes to an employee's HSA each plan year as follows: $2,750 (single) or $5,500 (family). These funds are deposited bi-annually (September 1 ($1,350 single / $2,750 family) and March 1 ($1,350 single / $2,750 family)). The contribution made by the district may be pro-rated based upon the starting or ending date of your health enrollment relative to the number of months of enrollment into the qualifying health plan. To receive the full annual contribution, an employee must be enrolled for the full plan year (September through August).
A flexible spending account allows you to use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible health care and dependent care expenses - Must work 30 hours per week.
