Attendance

• • You are expected to be in attendance daily. 

  • If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to retrieve the work from either Google classroom, a peer, or Phelps.

  • You are expected to participate in class activities daily - whether virtual or in person.

  • During lecture, discussion, speeches, and in-class activities, cell phones and personal electronic devices should be on silent and put away.

    • • There may be times in which electronics are encouraged or used in class.  Please wait for an announcement.  Otherwise, they should be put away.

      • I reserve the right to take your phone during class if it is a distraction and provide it back at the end of the hour.

Assignment Expectations

• • Work assigned for a grade is to be completed and turned in on time. 

Late work policy

• • Late-work is accepted for partial credit  (-10% within 48 hours-20% after 48 hours) until the start of the next unit.

    • • Please do your best to turn in work completed and on time.

      • You will need to stay on top of work in Classroom and in touch with Phelps or your peers to know what must be accomplished while you are out of class.

Re-take Policy

• • Re-takes of speech performances and assessments will be provided based upon student request within ONE week after scoring.

  • Student must make arrangements for re-take outside of class time.

Communication

• • You will use your student email regularly, so get in the habit of checking it at least daily.

  • Make use of the Classroom and Team calendars for important dates.

  • You will use Remind for team announcements and communication.

I will keep any eye on the prize and provide every chance I can create for us to have fun.

I will provide instruction, support, and coaching on a daily basis ,sometimes as a group and sometimes individually.  

I will manage tournament entries and team competition in order to have a successful season,. both as a team and individually.

My plan is to have the gradebook updated in a timely manner.  

Parent and student contact will be engaged as needed.
