These are advance placement classes that allow students to earn dual college credits\/or weighted HS credit. They are divided by medium and meet college level curriculum requirements. The course is designed to prepare the student to successfully complete an AP Portfolio exam that demonstrates the students ability to create a sustained artist investigation as well as complete 5 finish artworks that demonstrates their artist ability as they continue to pursue post graduate art classes.
Students must complete a min of 2 full years of Art credits at the HS as a prerequisite and the course has a homework component over the summer before starting the year long class in the fall. The first semester is designed to teach the artist how to create a sustained artist inquiry and document their processes and outcomes for their final portfolio. Second semester is independently driven by the students individual investigation and portfolio preparation. An information packet with required summer coursework will be provided in the spring at the beginning of May. Please reach out if you have questions.
