The Forest City Boys Track Team had an exceptional season, culminating in numerous standout performances at the Top of Iowa West Conference Championships. In the field events, Dakota Carlson secured first place in the High Jump, clearing a height of 6-00.00. In the Shot Put, Triston Brandsoy dominated with a throw of 50-03.50, while teammate Brock Good placed fourth with a throw of 42-10.00. In the Discus event, Corey Thoreson led with a throw of 134-08, and Brock Good secured third place with a throw of 130-03.
In the individual running events, Jack Thompson showcased exceptional speed by winning both the 100m and 200m races, clocking times of 10.84 and 22.76 seconds, respectively. Additionally, freshman Grant Gayther delivered a remarkable performance in the 800m race, securing first place with a time of 2:03.45.
The team's strength extended to the relay events, with a notable victory in the Sprint Medley, finishing with a time of 1:36.79. Jack Thompson's outstanding contributions earned him the title of Boys Conference Runner of the Year, while Coach Brian Hovenga was honored as Coach of the Year for his exemplary leadership throughout the season. These collective achievements underscore Forest City's dominance in the conference and their championship status across various track and field disciplines.

Jack Thompson had a strong showing, qualifying in the Boys 100m (2A) preliminaries with a time of 11.03 seconds and later placing sixth in the final with a time of 11.36 seconds, earning three points. He also contributed to multiple relay events, helping the Boys 4x100m Relay (2A) team qualify with a time of 43.48 seconds in the preliminaries and finishing eighth in the final with a time of 44.57 seconds, adding one point. His team also placed 12th in the Boys 4x200m Relay (2A) with a time of 1:31.40.
Grant Gayther competed in the Boys 800m (2A), finishing in 22nd place with a time of 2:04.36.
In field events, Dakota Carlson cleared 6-01.00 (1.85m) in the Boys High Jump (2A), securing 12th place. Triston Brandsoy competed in the Boys Shot Put (2A) but recorded a foul.
The Boys 4x400m Relay (2A) team, featuring V. Feldman, J. Barkema, G. Gayther, and H. Reynolds, ran a time of 3:30.36 in the preliminaries, placing 15th.
Overall, the team showed competitive performances across sprint, distance, relay, and field events at the state meet.
