In Spring 2026, cohort students must attend 60-minute biweekly training sessions facilitated by members of our advisory board or guest speakers.
Cohort students will be assigned relevant reading, videos, and other assignments.
In Fall 2026, students must complete ONE semesters of field experience in a high-need partnering school. Please confirm that you will be registered for FALL 2026 of eligible field experience/practicum courses as part of your degree program.
As a cohort student, by the end of the cohort training cycle, you will be able to:
1. Develop Telehealth Competencies: Trainees will build skills in telehealth practice through training, supervision, and applied experiences.
2. Develop Group Counseling Competencies: Trainees will facilitate group counseling that supports the development of the whole person.
3. Promote Student Wellness and Workforce Readiness: Trainees will support student wellness and long-term readiness for careers.
4. Develop Ethical AI Competencies: Trainees will learn responsible uses of AI in school-based mental health practice.
5. Foster a Sense of Belonging: Trainees will strengthen cohesion, collaboration, and commitment within schools and communities.
Cohort 4 students will each receive financial support as described below, contingent upon their continued and successful completion of all MHSPD requirements and meeting expectations.
Funds will be made available as follows:
A total of 8 credits of tuition remission across Summer and Fall 2026
Since this is a federal grant, students must have the 25/26 FAFSA on file for the funds to be processed within the financial aid system.
