As Coordinator of the Mental Health Counseling (MHC) Program, and on behalf of our staff, faculty and the SAM leadership team, I would like to extend a warm welcome as you embark upon your journey with us.
Decades ago, I applied to graduate programs in the U.S. As an international student from Taiwan, I contemplated what my future held. Likewise, during the strange and trying times of 2020, you may also wonder about what lies ahead after you graduate from our MHC program.
Rest assured that here at Fordham we will support you as you chase your dreams, just as we have done with all of our students over the years. To this end, I hope you spend some time getting to know the members of your Fordham community: your academic advisor, faculty, staff, peers and, in particular, the S.A.M. leadership team -- Sam, Jamez, Alison, Lina and Kim -- whom I have enjoyed working closely with since May 2020. The SAM leadership team has done a marvelous job, as you can see from the information and resources included in the SAM website. We continue to plan more initiatives and events to benefit all students as well as our alumni.
Until I see you all in person, please take good care of yourself so that you can be there for others. If I can be of any help, please do not hesitate to contact me via my internal webpage or echen@fordham.edu.
Warmly,
Eric
P.S. I prefer to be called “Eric”
