fraction - For a whole split into equal parts, a fraction is how many parts out of the whole. eg. ⅖ (two fifths) is 2 out of 5 equal parts.
numerator - The top number in a fraction. It is how many parts selected/shaded from the whole.
denominator - The bottom number of a fraction. It is the total number of equal parts in the whole.
