Threats to Marine Life

What are the threats to marine life?

For hundreds of years, the marine life that calls the ocean their home has been in danger. Climate change, pollution, overfishing, habitat destruction and so much more are the reasons countless species are in jeopardy. Overfishing and pollution are the biggest threats to marine life, both of which are in our control.

Why this topic?

I chose to research the threats to marine life today specifically, overfishing and ocean pollution because of my passion for the ocean, and protecting it, and everything that lives in it. The motivation behind choosing this topic was to educate others on the effects of ocean pollution, as well as the issue of overfishing, while also promoting the idea of sustainable fishing. Witnessing the change in the ocean around me made this topic personally connected to my life, which is why I believe it a social justice issue that needs to be addressed today.
