Each year, each day, and each hour tons of children have to suffer from poverty. Poverty is not only about famine and thirst but is also the root of many other problems such as sexual harassment, stealing, food insecurity, and more. Research shows that poverty and lack of education are related. Education is the freedom, the opportunities to change lives for the poor, the stepping stone for the new generation to grow, and the human basic right that every citizen of any country deserves. Education is not only about books, words, or numbers but it’s also about skills, behavior, values, and belief formation. It is a recipe for a civilized and strongly developed society. I am interested in this social injustice because I want to help Vietnam, my home country, to develop by making education available for poor children. The social justice themes that relate to my topic are Dignity and Human Rights, Family Life, the Proper Role of Government, and Option for the Poor and Vulnerable.
