Social Media Account!
For my action plan regarding ocean pollution, I created a Instagram account dedicated to raising awareness about ocean pollution. The account consisted of me posting weekly about what ocean pollution is, current statistics on the issue, and providing ways that we can reduce the amount of plastic we use throughout our daily lives. My plan regarding followers was to follow accounts that were also advocating for a similar issue in a effort to build a momentum of people viewing the account. The reason I chose this type of action is because social media has become a huge platform to perform advocacy about certain issues that you are passionate about if relayed respectfully and with compassion.
Ways to Reduce Plastic
Buying cartons or glass versus plastic when possible
Using reusable coffee mugs or mason jars
Use/buy less packaged foods
Avoid using plastic containers and look into using resusable containers
Using sillocone bags instead of plastic bags
Saying no to disposable cultery when possible
Storing leftovers in glass jars
Using reusable shopping bags
