Ideologies
Ideologies are a set of beliefs that are widely viewed by society as a whole. These ideolgies can be the difference between a social injustice progessing and declining as these beliefs tend to shape our opinion on certian worldwide issues that are embedded in our society. In regards to Ocean Pollution, ideolgies play an major role in how our society promotes adovcacy on this issue.
Profit Prioritizing
Industrial Companies choose to use a grave quantity of plastic because it makes production cheep and this plastic is often discarded improperly. Companies can use other packaging but that would be more expensive so they choose not to. Throughout our society there are many structures that demostrate how our industrial workers tend to seek profit instead of focusing on what is best for the earth such as corporate trash dumping and the mass production of plastic
Anthropocentrism
The belief that human life is the center and only important form of life in the ecosystem. When we neglect to take care of the environment and focus on ourselves, the world around us tends to suffer as we fail to properly recycle and throw our waste in the trash and fully educate ourselves about the effects of Ocean Pollution.
